Accessibility of the Digital Campus platform for all authorized users is extremely important to us. This help topic provides information regarding accessibility and specific functions within the streaming platform, including:

Screen Reader Compatibility

While other screen readers may work with the Swank Streaming Platform, we recommend using the Google ChromeVox screen reader with Swank Digital Campus because we operate on a Google Widevine platform.

To toggle on ChromeVox:

  1. Select Google Chrome as your web browser
  2. From Google Chrome, simply click on the Chrome menu icon on the top right of your browser window
  3. Select More Tools from the drop down menu
  4. Select Extensions for the option to toggle ChromeVox on/off

Media Player Keyboard Shortcuts

While the Tab and Enter keys will enable users to navigate the Digital Campus streaming platform library, specific keyboard functions may be used during movie playback. The functions closely resemble the keyboard functions utilized in other streaming platforms, such as YouTube.

To reference the list of shortcuts, click the Keyboard Shortcuts link on the video play page:

Captioning & Subtitles

Support materials for individuals with disabilities are provided whenever possible but is dependent upon the availability of resources from content providers. Often times this may be limited to captioning or subtitles; however, upon request, we will provide and request necessary resources from content providers and add them accordingly to the streaming movies. In cases where captions are unavailable for a requested movie, Administrators are notified prior to licensing in order to offer alternative content with captioning or alternative resources.

Captions and alternative audio options are found within the tool icon at the bottom, right of the player movie player window. When closed captions are available, they will be listed as English under the Subtitle heading.
